Tour Villa la Angostura and the 7 lakes

Duration: 3 Full Days

We start the day by picking you up at your hotel in the city of Puerto Varas. We got on the bike around 9:00 AM in the direction of Cardenal Samoré Pass (178 km) on the border with Argentina. However, to give a little more adventure to the journey we will go the internal route (usar “ruta-interna-puerto-octay.jpg”) to the border. This is entering the city of Frutillar and taking the route to Puerto Octay from there we will cross the beautiful fields cultivated with maize until we reach Entre Lagos where we will take a break in a typical restaurant for some coffee and a kuchen.

At 11:00 AM we get on the bike and we take the 215 route in direction of Chilean customs. Where we will have a process of approximately 2 hours between Chilean and Argentina customs (including the passage through the Cordillera de Los Andes). However, the passage through the mountains between the Chilean and Argentinean side is beautiful and worth doing at a lower speed. After crossing the customs Argentina we headed towards the city of Villa la Angostura where we will have a typical and tasty lunch with Argentinean Milanesas around 13:00 – 14:00 PM.

After lunch we get on our motorcycles around 3:00 pm in the direction of Río Hermoso (87 Km). This will be done through the the famous route 40 and its 7 lakes (Espejo Grande Lake, Correntoso Lake, Traful Lake, Villamarino Lake, Lake Falkner, Lake Machonico, and Lake Meliquina) which is the important and beautiful part of the route. These 87 kms are surrounded by beautiful lagoons, lakes and the mystical Ñivinco waterfalls. We will stop by each one of them. Approximately at 18:30 p.m. we should be arriving at our lodging. Tonight we will spend it at Hotel Rio Hermoso an Mountain Hotel.

We got up early and got on the motorcycle around 9:00 am in the direction of the city of Bariloche (160 Kms) but by route 63 (mountainous area) to the area of ​​Cuyin Manzano at this point joins the Traful River and the Black River of the province of Neuquen thus generating the Alicura reservoir a beautiful panoramic, we will recharge combusitble at the traful confluence, and then have lunch at the Virgen de las Nieves inn.

 From here on our left we will observe the desolate Patagonia Argentina and the Limay River will follow us to the small town of Dina Huapi driving along route 237 to the city of Bariloche (approximately 76 Kms). Tonight we will have 2 options, go to eat some delicious Italian pasta, or go for the classic Argentinian Bife at Alberto’s Boliche a typical restaurant of Bariloche.

Third and last day of our tour, we got up early in the direction of the Argentine customs, but before we went through a coffee and a bit of chocolate to Villa la Angostura. Once we cross the Chilean Customs we will return through the route 51 to appreciate part of the famous Rupanco Lake, then we enter again at the city of Puerto Octay to take the internal route in the way of the city of Frutillar and then to Puerto Varas.
